One of my favourite “west~coast” memories…?
My best buddy DAN and i used 2 play this game in Seattle: “movie~movie”
(A game to which we THOUGHT we made up but played all over the globe i have discovered) One of us would say a MOVIE line…. and the other would need to accurately name the movie [Or complete the dialouge, perferably with the proper tonality, accents, diction, vocal cues, etc~] within :59 seconds.

For example: He might say something to the effect of: (out of the bleu i might add - deliberately and completely out of context) : “What now?! lemme tell u “what now”… i’m gonna call mea couple ‘a hard-pipe-hittin’ niggahs to go to work on the holmes here,… with a pair of pliers and a blow torch… You hear me talkin’!!! HillBilly~boy!?!!!! i ain’t through with you!!!
Not b”ya daaahhm sight..!”

To which the correct Answer is, of course: “i’m gonna get MeDeViL on ‘yer ass !!!”
[ or "PuLP FiCtion" ]

cause he would always win

Apparantly,
if u play the game long enough….
and u win enough times~
u actually get to be a real MOVIE DIRECTOR.

At first glance I was offended by the following~
This VIDEO was a challenging one for me to watch.

wILL this weaken? stregnthen? or have no change in my current belief system?

The first thing I thought was watching half~way through this video was:
*wow*,~ “here is a young lady educated beyond her intelligence“.

Then I realized that was me responding out of fEAR~ just trying to justify and be: hurtful.
I felt threatened and offended similtaneously and thought:
*Wow*~ where did THAT knee-jerk reaction come from? I don’t operate out of fear?! Do I?
{atleast i’d like to think i don’t…}

So,
instead,
I backed the whole video up and watched it again~
from the begginning~
and I LISTENED.

I listened openly to her thoughts, ideas, and reasoning~
in the same way that I ask others to listen.

Here is “Mickie”~
someone who says that she does not believe in an OmniPresent/ OmniPowerful God.
Hm.

The question arises~ should we defend her right to say that in America?
Or, should we indoctrinate and pound into her through peer pressure that GOD DOES EXIST?

I say “forced religion” does not work… not as intended.
…so I can hear her frustration with orgainized religions combined with war efforts around our globe.

I say that a forced choice is no choice at all.
So is this what FREEDOM of choice looks like.
~she freely chose to state that she does not believe in God.

To be immaculately clear: I do not consider myself an “atheist“~
because I do believe in God,
a Supreme Being,
a grand Intelligent Design to our known reality….

but, I did~ perhaps for the first time- suspend my belief system long enough to listen through what this opposing viewpoint had to say.

Perhaps, you can try the same.

Finally~ if you{r belief systems} say{s}:
“Naw, i just have no intrest in what (i think) she is going to say..”
-ASK YOURSELF: WHY?

The ability to Question and Challenge our own belief system is absolutely neccessary to stregnthen our Spiritual Character.

This is my belief.
